The Power for Speed and Comfort
PowerCADD turned 20 years old. Like most 20 year olds, PowerCADD has gone through the “4 cylinder” and the “6 cylinder” powered vehicles, but now is ready for a sleek “muscular car” that has power heated seats, power steering, power windows, power sun roof, an iPod player, a 6 speed paddle shift, and most importantly the power for speed that only a V8 can offer.

Accordingly, PowerCADD V8 offers new speed and an up to date, modern “aerodynamic chassis” that runs only on the powerful Intel engined Macs.

PowerCADD V8 maximizes the Intel engined Mac. It maximizes the speed of the Intel Mac main processor engines that you chose and the “turbo charging” graphics processors that you chose. The experience will be more of a “sit back tightly” in your seat and an eye popping experience of speed and comfort. It will be like when you first hit the accelerator pedal of your new powerful V8 vehicle and said “Wow!” or “Right ON!”. You will express the same sentiment when you fire up PowerCADD V8 for the first time. However, you will NOT have to learn how to drive all over again. The real “feel” will come when you realize the details of the improvements and the elegance with which the details have been crafted. It will be much like when you get to run your hand over the well crafted “new leather” and feel the “double stitching”.

Will it take a day or two to discover all those “new details”; those “details” that you and your friends have always lusted for? Yes it will. But just like with any new vehicle, they will become common place.

PowerCADD 7.0.7 update available now.

PowerCADD 7 is not compatible with Mac OS 10.6 (Snow Leopard). An update for PowerCADD 7 is now available, is free and considered mandatory for OS 10 users. Please remember the preferred Operating System for PowerCADD 7.0.7 is 10.4.11 - NOTHING NEWER.. New machines come with newer Operating Systems, but with these new machinces, you will need to upgrade to PowerCADD 8. Older versions will not run satisfactorily with newer hardware and Operating Systems.

All versions of 6.x and versions of 7.0.x and under are not compatible and will not run under the new System 10.6.x (Snow Leopard) and above.

PowerCADD 7.0.7 Changes

Added an optional setting in the Print Dialog under PowerCADD settings to print dimmed layers using a gray pen pattern instead of using transparency. This feature may be of assistance when printing to Postscript devices that have quality or time issues when using transparency.

PowerCADD 7.0.7 update is available free and considered mandatory. The preferred Operating System for 7.0.7 is 10.4.11. All versions of 6.x and versions of 7.0.6 and under are not compatible and should not be used with System 10.5.x and above. Approximately thirty System revisions have been released since the design of PowerCADD 7. .

Attribute menus will no longer grow as objects are pasted into to a drawing with the "Global Attributes" feature is enabled.

Compatibility with certain older hatch definitions has been improved. Crash fixed.

Some of the attribute menus (lines, arrows, dashes) could under some circumstances grow incorrectly and beyond their allowable range causing command problems and in some cases instability. This issue has been addressed.

Drawing that have acquired too many dashes experienced a problem where the dash editor would crash with no method to remove the excess dashes. The dash edit dialog will always allow removal of dashes.
