How does the Fence Cut tool work?

Q. How does the Fence Cut tool work?

A: When using the Fence Cut tool a section of a drawing may be fenced off and cut. The tool can delete either the section inside or outside the fence or copy the fenced area to the clipboard.

Snap Shot:
Copies the portion of a drawing that has been fenced off and sends it to the clipboard.

Fence cut:
Used with Delete.

Delete:
Delete Outside: Will delete everything outside the fenced area on the visible layers.

Delete Inside: Deletes everything inside the fenced area.

Add Fence Lines:
Displays lines around the area that has been fenced and deleted.

 

To use the Fence Cut tool:

  1. Hold the option key down while selecting the fence cut tool from the PowerCADD 2000 tool palette. A dialog box will appear.
  2. Select which type of cut (inside or outside) you want to make. If you want the fenced lines to appear, select Show Lines.
  3. Click OK
  4. Hold the mouse down and draw a marquee around the area to be deleted. Remember if you select Outside Cut, everything on the page outside the fenced area will be deleted.

To use Snap Shot:

  1. Choose the Fence Cut tool from the PowerCADD 2000 tool palette while holding down the option key. A fence cut dialog box will appear.
  2. Select snap shot from the dialog box.
  3. Click OK.
  4. Hold the mouse down and draw a marquee around the area to be copied. This area will now appear on the clipboard.
