How to start drawing an object offset from a snap point

How to start drawing an object offset from a snap point.

Offset1

Here’s How

  1. Open the Edit Window
  2. Select the object (A) the snap is to take place from.
  3. Select the tool (PowerCADD tools only) that will be used to draw with.
  4. Locate the snap point from where the offset is to be measured from (A).
  5. Hold the option key down, and click and release the mouse at the snap location (A) then release the option key.
  6. Press and release the tab key and the Edit Window will change to the Edit-Point Window showing just the X and Y locations.
  7. Enter the distance you would like the offset (B) to start from. In this example we have added 6 inches to the existing coordinates. Remember this window can do math so it is possible to enter negative numbers also.
  8. Press the enter key and the offset location will appear and the object (B) can be drawn from that starting point.
