How to start drawing an object offset from a snap point.
Here’s How
- Open the Edit Window
- Select the object (A) the snap is to take place from.
- Select the tool (PowerCADD tools only) that will be used to draw with.
- Locate the snap point from where the offset is to be measured from (A).
- Hold the option key down, and click and release the mouse at the snap location (A) then release the option key.
- Press and release the tab key and the Edit Window will change to the Edit-Point Window showing just the X and Y locations.
- Enter the distance you would like the offset (B) to start from. In this example we have added 6 inches to the existing coordinates. Remember this window can do math so it is possible to enter negative numbers also.
- Press the enter key and the offset location will appear and the object (B) can be drawn from that starting point.
