How to Find Layer

Q: I have many Layers in my drawing. Is there an easy way to find the Layer a certain object is located on?

A: Yes! Here’s how:

  1. Open the Status Window.
  2. Open the Layers Window
  3. Make sure “Edit All Layers” is checked in the Layers Window (bottom of window).
  4. Select the object to find out which Layer it is on.

5. The Layer name will now appear in the Status Window. If you click the Layer name in the Status Window, the Layer the object is on will become active if not currently active. Also, the Layers Window will now indicate the active Layer.
