Re: PowerCadd 10

I'd rather see just the most useful WildTools be incorporated into PC10. For one thing, the 3D tools don't need to be incorporated if porting PowerCADD data into FormZ is a feature. Having one complete set of drawing tools in one palette, and another set of modifying tools in another palette, is wh...

Re: PowerCadd 10

I also want to put here my OPINION that some of the frustrated posts here are the very reason developers don't preview usually. You should be used this by now. Usually a developer is not going to tip their hand, because it's a often a thankless gesture, not to mention other complications from makin...

Re: PowerCadd 10

What will be the expectations regarding PC10 ability to open earlier versions of PC and reading/translating .dwg files? Fred, PowerCADD 10 will open PowerCADD 8 and 9 files. Earlier file versions should be converted to PC9 to access them on PC10. As for DWG, the translator has been rewritten for PC...

Re: PowerCadd 10

As you know, Apple makes it hard to maintain compatibility with older systems. From an engineering perspective, with PowerCADD 10, we are finding it harder and harder to maintain compatibility with a broad range of older systems. Supporting older systems affects the functionality and performance of ...

Re: PowerCadd 10

Hello everyone. I normally stay out of the forum, preferring to keep my head on software design and programming. However, Alfred's post needs an authoritative factual response. Alfred suggesting that PowerCADD 10 is only 10-15% is not true. He is also not correct about the UI of PowerCADD. PowerCADD...

Todd are you still involved?
Yes, I am still involved.

Due to the terse way people tend to communicate online, sometimes forgetting that there are actual human beings on the development side, I find spending much time in the forum robs engineering productivity.

Re: PC won't launch

Sorry for the delayed response. So, when I click to open a powercadd 9 project/drawing I see the "POWERCADD 9" logo box, then a prompt box pops up that says "loading Powercadd 9 file (and the name of the project/file) please wait"... and the color wheel turning. I have to force quit (says Powercadd...

Re: PC won't launch

Can you be more specific about what "won't launch" means? Does PowerCADD hang. Does PowerCADD crash?

PowerCADD does a version check when it starts, and sometime a firewall will block this request causing PowerCADD to wait for a timeout. If you wait 2 minutes, does PowerCADD continue?

Re: Migration

All the times I've used migration assistant, I've just used it to move a user account, not applications or system. I read an article that's worth contemplating about why you may want to start over with a fresh user account from scratch, but I can't find it now. Not saying you should, but it worth t...
