Re: Register Your Interest in a Forward Move

One seat here, PowerCADD is the only CAD I have used and would really like to see it continue to be viable. As a Mac only user, PowerCADD has been a lifesaver. It would be a real shame to see it fade away. Side note, my father, a self taught 3rd generation designer/builder drafted all of his homes ...

Re: Creating Tables‽

Wow (have I said that before?) -- one more thing: I typically like the top entry of the door or window schedule to include my bubble text door/window symbol. I am able to copy door symbol 01 from my PC drawing, then paste it into the advanced text door schedule cell for that door, and it looks perfe...

Re: Creating Tables‽

Wow, that is a game changer for me. I could "drag" an advanced text block to match my typical detail module, copy a table from Numbers and edit/paste it into that advanced text block, and it came in perfectly. Wish I had known about this years ago!

Re: Creating Tables‽

Alfred you got me thinking (V dangerous). After reading your post I tried to copy & paste a table created in Numbers and using the Advanced Text tool to paste it. It took a bit of time but placed the table in editable form on my open drawing. I had been trying a direct cut and paste and pasting wit...

Re: Creating Tables‽

I usually just do tables in Numbers - then literally copy and paste them into PowerCadd, and they come in as a placed PDF. Funny, I had never thought of doing that. I normally do the opposite, like copy my architectural stamp from PC and paste it into Pages documents. Thanks for the tip! (I just fi...

Re: Creating Tables‽

I'm a long time PC user and had never used tables, until this past Friday. I didn't use the manual, but was able to create a Window Schedule by fumbling around: I selected the Advanced Text tool and "dragged" a text box, then typed in some dummy text. I then hit "command E" to open the edit window. ...

Re: Life after/beyond PowerCadd?

Just wondering.. would a cross-platform PC/WT written in CPF (Xojo) be such a bad thing if feasible? I know its not just the initial translation/rewrite but the future upgrades, features, compatibility, translation, etc.. which must also be considered, as well as a meaningful cost increase. I don't...

Re: Life after/beyond PowerCadd?

I am running PC9 on a late 2015 iMac using Sierra. Much as I'd like to have PC updated, I probably can squeak another year out of this machine/setup. I have been lucky with my Apple stock in my SEP IRA and hope to "retire" in a year. I had been planning on retiring before the next building code cycl...
