Re: PowerCADD Future

Great to hear this. Our office has been using PowerCADD (and PowerDraw) since the 90s, and have been careful not to let our office Macs update their systems in order to keep using PowerCADD for as long as possible. Very excited about the possibility of a new version (and updated machines). Thanks, J...

Re: Opening old files

PowerDraw 4? That's a great start - thank you for that.

I've sent a direct message with my details - hope to talk soon.

Re: Opening old files

Hi Alfred,

Thank you very much for looking at these files for me. I've attached a zip file containing 8 files, one of which I replaced the extension with PC9 to see if that would make a difference. The others seem to have used the last 3 letter sent he file name for an extension.

Re: Opening old files

Uh-oh. Many views and no responses - that leads me to believe these files may be lost. That's unfortunate - they were for a large residential project we had done in the 90s, and it's recently been sold to purchasers who would like to renovate. Oh well - back to the "drawing board". Best of luck to a...

Re: PowerCADD Future

Well - sorry to read this, but at least now we know. I can start the process of moving on rather than waiting endlessly for an update.

Appreciate your coming forward with this Todd.

Opening old files

Hi,

I’ve found a number of 3.25” discs that contain CAD files from 1996. I’m not sure if they’re Powrcadd or Powerdraw, but my version of PCad won’t recognize them.

Any ideas on how I might open these?

Thanks!

Re: Life after/beyond PowerCadd?

User here since the Power Draw days. I know it's been said many times here, but an update - a simple update, would go a long way. I already have one Revit station in my office and if this drags on too long, it will eventually make sense to move everyone over.

Re: What do you need?

Hi Alfred, Is there an update on the next version of PowerCADD? We're starring to run into issues with our older Macs (not being updated to ensure PowerCADD operation) that won't run other software that's been optimized for the new system (such as Harvest time tracking). Any update information would...

Re: PowerCADD Direction

Hi Todd,

Thought I'd check in with you to see if the update is still planned for 2020?

Thanks!

Re: Update of PowerCADD for MacOS Catalina

Thanks for the recommendations. I'm going to try the re-install of the older system.

Any word on when the update may arrive? Is it still scheduled for 2020?

Thanks again.
