Re: ILEXSOFT High Design Users?

I must say that in reviewing the documentation at the web site the package seems comprehensive and possibly a worthy successor to PC. I was very impressed with the implementation of the "paper space/model space" concept which, I feel, compares very well with both AutoCAD and Vectorworks, while addin...

Re: ILEXSOFT High Design Users?

It seems to me than incorporating Wild Tools into High Design would be very difficult, if not impossible without the input and sprit of Alfred. This is not a knock against the High design development team.

Re: Phil Loheed

Fantastic article Alfred, very well written; a great tribute to Phil whom I did not know personally, just through the Forums and Drawing Room. He was the prime example of how and why PC/WT was/is a "DRAWING AND THINKING TOOL" and very different from a" CAD" program. Most of us old timers came from a...

Re: Life after/beyond PowerCadd?

I have never found the simple 2D hatching capabilities in VW to be very good, even after many years of use through various upgrades.

Re: PowerCADD Future

Eduardo may have hit the nail on the head: new users. New users who don't have years of legacy drawings to be concerned about and who probably would not jump through some sort of VM/Parallels, OS, etc. hoops in order to use the software. Some type of M1/OS rewrite is going to be necessary sooner or ...

Re: Life after/beyond PowerCadd?

Just wondering.. would a cross-platform PC/WT written in CPF (Xojo) be such a bad thing if feasible? I know its not just the initial translation/rewrite but the future upgrades, features, compatibility, translation, etc.. which must also be considered, as well as a meaningful cost increase. I don't ...

Re: Life after/beyond PowerCadd?

Its good to hear from current users that some sort of 3D capabilities would not be desirable in a near future version of PC.

Re: DWG File Import

I remember asking autodesk about this some years ago and their advice was to always use dxf for translation into another cad program not dwg. I have used dxf, when available, with no problems for years. Maybe this helps.
