Re: Well Duh moments
For people who have never used foot and inch measurements, it seems totally incomprehensible, illogical, unreadable but very exotic.
For me as a CAD program developer, it is hell to manage these units...
Why do some people still use these units?

Re: PowerCADD Future
Good news for Engineered Software and for PowerCADD users. What about the XML translator? I suppose that it will be never available... Too bad, I had added the reading of plist files from PC in my iPocket Draw on iPad/iPhone. But it was interesting to write it. Now, I am curious to see the new Power...

Re: Life after/beyond PowerCadd?
Todd,
I think that your solution of a translator to a XML format is good.
And I will be happy to try to read such XML files with RealCADD and iPocket Draw.

Re: PowerCADD Future
To have some ideas about speed, I made some tests with different Mac and macOS. Same file with 305014 lines which can be downloaded here The dxf file is in meter and scale 1/50. Speed test : From a display at zoom 100%, I do zoom all -> first time, select all -> 2e time, unselect -> 3e time. On a Ma...

Re: Life after/beyond PowerCadd?
Now, to answer your question regarding PowerCADD's file format. First, be aware, PowerCADD files are not trivial! I am not opposed to sharing PowerCADD's file format, but the specification is only fully defined by the code. Engineered Software would be unable to provide technical support regarding ...

Re: Life after/beyond PowerCadd?
Bonjour, I know HighDesign from Ilexsoft because, as my software RealCADD, he is written with Xojo which can compile now for Mac M1. I have a beta version of RealCADD which runs natively on Mac M1. I understand the difficulties of Todd to made a new version of PowerCADD. It is true that Apple doesn'...

Re: Latest Words
I was a PowerDraw PowerCADD user from 1990 to 2005. Because of the upgrade prices charged by the French distributor, I gradually abandoned PowerCADD for my own software RealCADD but I always followed the evolution of PowerCADD. I know that my software is not at the level of PowerCADD, especially wit...
