Best Post PowerCADD Residential Drafting Application?

I hope I'm not messing up this thread by introducing this subject. I think it's good that there are threads for each contender program. I just want to bump the conversation and see if there are some other options out there. We would rather stay with PowerCADD but like the old water heater in my gara...

Re: High Design

I'm looking at it, partly because I do not have the machine yet to look a other programs. High Design can be run on Mojave. Also we would be fine with a simple drawing program. So far I realize I have to learn something about how to use it. I can't just start drawing. I have no idea how to deal with...

Re: PowerCadd 10

Move points WT style is a must for me! As far as what to "give up" That's hard. There are a great number of WT that I don't use at all, but the ones I use, I depend on. All the transformation tools for one, and any clip and extend tool. Bubble / Callout / Sections of course save a lot of time, doors...

Re: PowerCadd 10

You all may or may not know it via the PowerCADD ad run in the MacWorld Expo magazine and other places in the late '90's. Seriously? An 836x1081 pixel, 531 KB jpg is "too large" to upload here? How about a better bulletin board system this year too? Try a link instead: https://robertcoolidge.smugmu...

Re: PowerCadd 10

I do keep the nice and slim toolbars on the side of my screen and I keep the edit window on the main screen for quick glances.

Re: PowerCadd 10

I hope the edit window is customizable (and movable) as before. I've never needed more than the length and angle (and layer) of a line. That's just a huge waste of screen space to exhibit all that.

Re: PowerCadd 10

The problem I encounter and which has worsened over the years with PowerCadd is with text boxes and dimensions. I reformatted the computer and installed PowerCadd by downloading the latest version from the ENGSW site, I did not install additional fonts but only the generic software to use the compu...

Re: PowerCadd 10

I'm in the same boat as everyone else and more and more software is no longer usable on Mojave including more sites where I can no longer use Mojave Safari. I keep hoping for an extended beta test but we have made a decision that January 1 will be our cutout date where we will give up using PowerCA...

Re: PowerCadd 10

I like the needle tool along with the "match" function. It really helps in working with attributes as you go, with little thought. I use the match function constantly to move to layers and set tool attributes. Helpful in reworking imported drawings (also the Magic Wand). There are just too many grea...

Re: PowerCadd 10

The WildTools Transformation tools are very important. Also tools like the wall tool, grid line tool, section and balloon symbols, and other line healing, curve extending tools in WT--whose names I barely remember, as I just hit the command key or the icon without thinking anymore. We've been so spo...
