Re: ILEXSOFT High Design Users?

Andrea, In case you don’t know — WildTools is a major plug-in for PowerCADD. It is a HUGE part of the PowerCADD community. I know with myself, when I was using PowerCADD, if there was a native PC tool and a Wildtools tool that was similar, that there was a good chance that I would end up using the W...

Re: ILEXSOFT High Design Users?

My main problem with HighDesign was getting tiled patterns to show properly when inside a viewport that’s in a layout.

Re: Life after/beyond PowerCadd?

More Vectorworks — With regards to the above particular shaped walkway, here’s what happens if you try to do the entire length in one operation In the middle section, where it changes from clockwise to counterclockwise, the pavers are not the same length as the others, and you get this unwanted line...

Re: Life after/beyond PowerCadd?

A bit tricky to end up with all pavers the same LENGTH at the center of this run’s length. Happy Vectorworks could do this, even if I had to use a workaround

Re: Life after/beyond PowerCadd?

I can’t remember if it was the PowerCADD side or the Wildtools side but one of those had the best revision cloud tool. I definitely like PC/WT’s way compared to Vectorworks way of doing a revision cloud. PC/WT’s implementation was simple yet it produced the best looking clouds by far. I was able to ...

Re: Life after/beyond PowerCadd?

I was a little surprised to see that Vectorworks has constraints. But the way they’re implemented is not the best when you go to edit them. It’s hard to see a coincident constraint for instance, that is, when you select it within the edit box. Onshape handles constraints much better Nonetheless — I’...

Re: Life after/beyond PowerCadd?

I like being able to take a polyline object that only has one line running around the perimeter, and then using Vectorwork specialty tools, be able to come up with this in less than a minute. Being able to specify exactly what kind of a border I want — what kind of spacing — how wide — and what kind...

Re: Life after/beyond PowerCadd?

Here is a feature I really like OK so all programs I’ve ever worked with either work with the paper in portrait or landscape Now say for instance you’re drawing a wall from left to right or up and down or at 45°, well you can hold the shift key to constrain it to make sure that you get it right on t...
