My name is Steve Baer and I write the Rhinoceros CAD application (www.rhino3d.com).
We are getting requests for supporting the import of PowerCADD files into Rhino and I am exploring options. We have a plug-in architecture for Rhino that lets us add support for new file formats which we could use for the PowerCADD format.
I noticed on this forum that there is both a proprietary file format as well as a XML file format that is generated through a translator.
- Do you have a library or specification for your PowerCADD file format?
- Is the XML format something that you would recommend we use instead?
- Do you have sample files that we could use as a base for getting started?
Thanks,
-Steve

Steve,
The xml format is exactly what you need, and it’s designed to do just what you are asking for.

Can you send me a sample xml file along with a screenshot of what the file is supposed to look like in PowerCADD?
Thanks
