Dynamic snap failure

Suddenly the keyboard keys for snapping, like v, x, p do not work. Automatic snapping still works: the snap letter in the snap window highlights when it's going to snap. But if I want to force a particular snap like s, x or p, nothing happens when I press the key.

Is there something I could have done to deactivate this feature?

Wouldn't you know it...while restarting PowerCADD made no difference, rebooting my computer fixed the problem. What a strange thing to be affected by a reboot.
