P.S.Patrickm, I did not back up my preferences before deleting them, however, I've since done a fresh instal of PC, so that would create a new preferences file, right?
I would assume it would create new preferences. When deleting the old prefrences, make sure to delete any that start with “com.engsw” as well as the folder named PowerCADD.

I restarted in Safe Mode and PC opened up immediately and didn't crash! Sorry to be ignorant, but what should my next steps be?
You should upgrade to the last shipping version of PowerCADD (and WildTools if you use it). You can get them here:
http://www.engsw.com/products/powercadd ... -5-update/
If you still have problems after installing these then start up in safe mode again and Reset PowerCADD using the item in the Help menu.
