Not quite OT- MacBook Pro and Battery Life

For those of us who are proud owners of the 2019 MacBook Pro, I notched that the battery life while doing PowerCADD is rather short.
The good news is that it's a lot longer than what I experienced with the 2006 MacBook Pro.
I tried continuously using the new laptop on battery power while working PowerCADD. I found that, after 4 hours, I was down to 17% charge.
When I tried this on my 2006 laptop I found the battery life was only about 90 minutes. So there is some improvement there.
Apple claims the new laptop goes up to 10 hours on a charge if just doing menial tasks such as surfing the internet. I consider using PowerCADD and VectorWorks "intense graphics."
Would be interested to find out other's take on this issue.
