One of the most indispensable tools for me, when working on survey plans, is the WildTools arc tool that lets me type in a length for the arc in the edit window, because that's how the surveys generally specify curves. However if I select the arc later, the edit window only shows me the angle, not the length. The only way I could figure out to determine the length (other than doing a tedious calculation using the angle) is to use the Place Area menu item. It sure would be nice if the edit window for the circular arc showed me the length as well as the angle.

Related to this, circular arcs are designated in the survey plans in the format L=xxx.xx' R=xxx.xx', with the length and radius in feet. It would be nice if there was a dimension tool that created this notation for arcs.

Also, watch the Edit Window while using the Arc by Chord tool.

When I click the Face Dimension Tool on an arc, PowerCADD crashes.

When I select an arc, its length is shown in the Perimeter field of the Edit Window.

And the Face Dimension Tool is working for me.

It still crashes every time I click on an arc. Also I'm not getting the length in my edit window.

Duh...I just had to make the edit window bigger!

Hi Alfred,
If the face dimension tool somehow worked with bezier curves you will have saved 2020 for me! It would be fantastic for dimensioning irregular edges in title deed plans.

Reasonable thing to ask for but in looking at the programming, the complexity is too much for me to pull off.

I have been out of my office for a week and I’m slowly getting back into things.

Malcolm Woodruff noted that Z heights are not being handled right in TopoTools. The Z height should not be scaled. I’ve now got that fixed.
