For a long time I've wanted to be able to paste text into a PowerCADD text block matching the style of the text already set in the block. Most word processors like Pages have a command that does this. In Pages it's called 'Paste and Match Style' and in Word it's called 'Paste and Match Formatting'. It basically strips the text of its formatting, so the resulting text takes on the the style the block is set to.

PowerCADD doesn't have this feature so if you just go ahead and paste say, some text from a website, all the formatting is retained and you have to reset it for that block.

This was frustrating me yesterday so I looked around and found a really useful utility called Plain Clip that basically does this for you. It's no longer supported but you can still download it at https://www.bluem.net. Direct link- https://www.bluem.net/files/plain-clip-2.5.2.zip
Once installed and configured you can just copy text and before pasting, run the faceless software (I just click on it in the dock- I dragged the App to the Dock to get it there) and then paste into your text block. It only works if you invoke it right before pasting so it doesn't get in the way of using copy & paste in the normal way.

There's also Pure Paste which is free and runs on Apple silicon but it requires Monterey, which is a non-starter for PowerCADD users (at the moment!).

I’ve internalized this process - when I’m drafting I keep a TextEdit document open in plain text format. Anything coming into PowerCadd is first pasted into TextEdit and converted to plain text, copied again comes into PowerCadd and adopts the existing styles. Only takes a moment.

That's a great idea!
