Digital Signatures

We are now required to have a 'Digital Signature' in the pdf drawings when submitting to the Building Department. My drawings include a scanned signature but this new requirement is for a authenticated signature that can be created within Adobe and when the document is opened, it displays this authenticity. Since PC9 does not use Adobe, rather creates the pdf's itself, does any one have experience in doing this?
