All the objects in this image have the exact same gradient fill.
The three objects on the right have their "broomstick" handles with a width of zero. So PowerCADD "knows" the object is height = (X), but it only *fills* height = (X minus the broomsticks). (the last object has a pen width of NIL)
So by stretching the broomstick you can precisely adjust control where the gradient falls.
Imagine for some reason you want the windows in a house you have drawn to have the same gradient.
So fill the windows and apply a gradient..
hmmm.. that doesn't look like what I want. I want them all to share the same gradient...okfine connect them up
now to make the connectors disappear....Reshape and move the vertices.
Now our window fill object looks like this (in reshape mode):
and I am so happy with the house now...
So now you can make discontinuous objects share a gradient and you can very precisely control what parts of a gradient are visible, without editing the gradient in the tool (and disrupting the settings)..
This gradient is vertical so it runs from the tippy top to the very bottom of the object.Gradient or Gradiesn't?

Gradient or Gradiesn't?
Matt,
Have you forgotten about the Gradient Fill tool I created at your request? It deals with all this.

Gradient or Gradiesn't?
Alfred -- not at all. Sometimes a drawing needs to be created in anticipation of future adjustments.
