Rotate multi items around center of each object

Post by kentkirk » Mon Aug 12, 2019 12:26 am

I have a request that I think would be useful. If you have ever had to change your layout of a drawing 90°, and then had to manually rotate every note item 90° you know what I am talking about. If you select several notes at one time they are all rotated around the center of the group, then you have to drag each one to where it is supposed to be.

Would there be a way to select multiple objects and have all of them rotate 90° around their individual centers?

Excel has a quick key the repeats the last used command. It could be something like that. That would save having to pull down the menu to rotate and pull out to "Rotate Right" a hundred times.

OR am I missing an easier way to do it???

If you have WildTools, check out page 64 in the manual.

In this situation Mirror Points Tool does the same thing as rotate right. see attachment. Not a big problem if you have 5 notes, but rotating 50 notes is a pain in the neck.

After trying several things, I found that the Rotate to Zero under Rotate works for a lot of the notes.

Kent,

If you have WildTools you could do the rotation in two stages. Using the Rotate Tool you can lock the Apex of the rotation and then:
First, select and rotate all non-text items with the tool set to rotate about the locked apex, then;
Select and rotate all text items with the tool set to move about the locked apex.
(See the settings below)

Dang,

Don't you hate it when you realise there is an easier way just after you've posted something?!

Rotate everything then select all the notes and use WildTool Spin Tool to unspin them in place.

Hmm. I am looking at WildTools10Docs.pdf file dated May 10 2018 and it is the Spin Tool. I must have the wrong file?

Is that the one you get from PowerCADD's Help menu?
