It would be a great opening to open source Illustration/CAD world beeing able to import/export drawings from/to SVG format.
Huge documentation about this Open Standard XML-based is avaliable on the web.
Would it be a too difficult deal?

Hmmm. This subject came up the other day, and in checking things I found I had already started work on this.
