WildTools for PC10?

Post by Derek » Thu Oct 10, 2024 9:58 pm

It appears Alfred is interested in getting WildTools running with PC10. In an email he sent me today he had the following to say:

"...I see no difficulty in getting WildTools to PC10.

I’ve already made most of the changes necessary but in commented-out lines of the programming, so that it will largely be a matter of eliminating the commented-out lines and then commenting-out the existing programming.

The key to this is to make the changes in advance so the change-over is a simple operation where you swap the old and the new.

I’m going to guess it’s about a three-week process.

I don’t want to make this change until I can do it all in one operation."

I believe many PowerCADD users have benefited from WildTools in the past and that it would still be a wonderful package of external features for PC10 and beyond. I hope Alfred can get it working.

Alfred's reply to Derek is very encouraging. I hope David Kropp reads it so Alfred's offer to convert WildTools to run on PC10 can come to fruition.

For me Powercadd is Wild Tools

After Alfred said he wasn't being involved I moved on, if there is a possibility that Wild Tools will be part of Powercadd 10 I'd look at this again.

This is great news for those of us who rely on WildTools for our work. Without WT, I'd need to continue using PC9. Thanks for the update Derek!

This would be great and really is necessary for me to use PC10-otherwise I would have to keep using PC9 which is increasingly cumbersome as the old Mac OS is not compatible with many new applications.

I'd be very pleased to see this happen.

It is well worth the three-week effort to port Wild Tools to PC10.

The latest PC 10 beta is out, I just downloaded it. It's discouraging to see that little apparent progress has been made since the last update over 3 weeks ago. I'll review this beta and report directly to Support.
