Joe,

I’m just finishing up clearing up some refinements for the 3D screws. I’ll have an update posted shortly, but if you can update to the current development version, I’ll be happy to look at any crash logs.

I’ll bet there will not be a single one. Of course, users sometimes have crashes, but whenever I’ve looked at the crashes, they were all outside PowerCADD and WildTools.

P.S. I'm not going anywhere. I'm lashed to the mast of this ship and I have to ride out the storm no matter what. I think when I get cranky about the slooow progress towards getting a current OS compatible PowerCADD/Wildtools I am speaking for many others unwilling to rock the boat any further. Sorry, my boots smell like fish! Spring is coming and I'm getting my first covid vaccine shot today.

I’ve just finished updating the Thicken tool to produce Beziers instead of polygons from arcs, circles, etc.

Next I’m going to work on the Clip, Combine and Union tools to do the same. Nothing for you to download just yet, but it’s progress.

Minor screwup. First upload did not include Doors & Windows. If you’re missing this, just download it again. It’s now included.

Greetings Alfred.
In light of the recent news about PC I'd like to re-ask the question of whether it's possible that your suite of tools could be added as a plug-in to Form•Z?

Charles,

I talked to David Kropp at FormZ on Monday. He has talked about a “WildTools for FormZ” and got me a SDK, but it would be too much for me to learn a new programming language. I only admit to being 28, but…”

They will be working on an upgraded set of 2D tools, and he has the source code for WildTools. I’ll be happy to assist, but I don’t think you will ever be happy with it after PC/WT.

Remember we have OpenClip for copy and paste between the two programs.

Many thanks.
I've had endless problems with open clip / save as .. dwg, etc with data getting scrambled, things not to scale and endless clean up after the import.
Granted I'm unusually under deadline when I'm attempting to do these conversions and have yet to document a workflow that gives consistent results, but alas - well anyway...

Because of the nature of doing presentations to clients who are not CAD or 2d literate I pretty much always have to do the initial design in FZ, do a quick render and then convert to shop drawing on the final version. The 2-d tools in FZ are a joke. If I had the WT suite in there I could get 95% of my 2-d done in the FZ "Layout" workspace.

Totally agree that for complex 2D plan sets (such as architectural) PC/WT is the most efficient route, but for single object design and shop drawings FZ is my go-to, then do advanced detailing in PC/WT.
