Powercadd is running very slow on one of our machines. It seems to stall at the startup and then once it gets past that it takes 20 min. for a new sheet to finish opening.
Powercadd version 9.1.8
Mac OS 10.11.6
8GB. MEMORY MAC MINI

PowerCADD Running Very Slow
Bill,
I would fire up the Console program, clear the window and then watch for error messages when you fire up PowerCADD.
It’s more involved, but the Activity Monitor has the ability to get a snapshot of what routines and processes are running.
It may have nothing to do with PowerCADD at all, since it only happens on the one machine.
Computer is frustration spelled backwards.

PowerCADD Running Very Slow
Alfred,
I ran the Console Software here is what I get as PowerCadd is starting up:
default 13:03:29.705327 -0400 PowerCADD ApplePersistenceIgnoreState: Existing state will not be touched. New state will be written to /var/folders/sw/j8ksbt4x7m73k320cpycxqqr0000gn/T/com.engsw.PowerCADD9.savedState
thanks
Bill

PowerCADD Running Very Slow
Bill,
Nothing out of the ordinary there.
Maybe run Activity Monitor. You can see the processes that are running and how much of the CPU time is used by each process.
If PowerCADD is taking up a lot of time, then you can select it and choose Sample Process from the Action menu.
You can send this to Todd. It’s all Greek to me.

PowerCADD Running Very Slow
Bill,
Often when there is a slowdown with PowerCADD it is due to PowerCADD attempting to resolve items in the Recents menu. If you choose "Clear Menu" form the recents menu, that will often correct the issues.
Best,
Todd
