MBP upgrade path?

As I dip my toes back into the working world, I'm using the system that I last used while working in 2020: a 2016 MBP. I'm using 10.14.6. My PC version is 9.1.11; WT 10.6.

I have to say that PC is still fairly snappy with my setup, but time moves on and this machine is now 8 years old.

I'd very much like to grab one of this MBP with Apple Silicon. So the question is: what's the upgrade path, pending PC10?

BTW: I'm pleased to see that my work samples still adorn the engsw.com site!
