Find and Replace?

Post by Matt_A » Mon Aug 24, 2020 6:26 pm

Does anyone know the secret to using the Find and Replace dialog to replace commas in an imported text file with tabs? I could not find the method to put a tab in the dialog that worked. :/

I'm not sure how to put a tab directly in the box for PC, but for other programs, I normally copy/ paste a tab copied from somewhere else, sometimes a different program.

You could also export out to a text editor, do the find and replace, and import back into PowerCADD.

Thanks all these are helpful. Derek, where did you learn about option+Tab, option+Enter? I could not find it in the manual.

Matt,

Option-Tab works in many Mac applications so I thought it was worth a try. I don't recall where I learnt it but I used it a lot in TextEdit to massage data files from CSV to Tab delimited.
