How do I assign a function to a command key so the associated dialog box will open when the command key is pressed?
Here’s How
- Select commands from the Layout Menu.
- From the Defined Functions section of the commands dialog, select the desired tool or menu that you want to assign a command too. In the example below the Parallel Offset tool was selected and the letter Q assigned to it as the command key.
- If the key has a function assigned to it, click the delete box to remove it.
- Click add from the dialog box. The Get Command dialog box will open.
- Hold the option key down and press the keyboard key you want to assign the command to. Both the option key and the command key will appear in the Keys window. In the example below the option key and letter Q from the keyboard were selected.
- Click OK.
- Hold the option key down while pressing the assigned command key. The dialog box assigned to that command key will open.
