Line Weights at Scale
Line Weights at Scale
Sometimes you might want to draw a single line drawing, but use lineweights that are accurate scaled dimensions. PowerCADD uses 72points = 1" (at 1:1 scale) so a 1 point line is 0.666" wide at 1/4"=1'-0" scale

In order to create these, I made a line weight of 1" actual width and used the WildTools Scale tool to scale it accordingly.
I thought this was faster than calculating all the line weights manually and creating line weights of each width.
Set the End Cap to None if you're using this technique for schematic layouts.

Matt
What font is that?

Re: Line Weights at Scale
Do you know how to change line thickness from "point" to metric?
Re: Line Weights at Scale
3 points = 1.05791mm
17 points is very close to 6mm
1 point = 1/72"

Re: Line Weights at Scale
In my ARCH C template, the line weight is a metric unit. For my ARCH D template, it’s point-based. I’d like to change the ARCH D to metric as well, but I don’t know how to adjust that setting.

Re: Line Weights at Scale
Given those are object Attributes my last recollection is Attr Menu -> Lines... should open an Edit Pen... dialog to allow changing both the line weight value and unit of measure. Those items can be saved with Stationery Pad files, etc.. The user could also check on/off which line weight values displayed in the Attr Menu. It may be necessary to press the Option key when choosing the Attr Menu to see the three dots behind the Lines... menu item to bring up the dialog to change the value.
Last recollection was that info was in Chapter 4 of the manual (PDF version of the software manual was traditionally in the PowerCADD Application Folder). Sadly my detailed recollection of specific page numbers is failing LOL so take all of the above with a grain of salt. No idea if any of this still applies given the state of the software, Apple OS and hardware combinations, etc., but thought I'd pass it along as a place to start looking.

J&E,
You may also wish to consider using PowerCADD's Use Global Attributes preference setting as that applies one set of attributes to all your drawings.
To set this feature you open one drawing that already has all the attributes as you want them or adjust them to what you want. Then go to PowerCADD-Preferences-General and you will see the Use Global Attributes. Turning this on will have the effect of overriding the attribute settings of any existing drawing with the global ones.
So in your case, you would open your ARCH C template and turn on Global Attributes.
