translating autocadd files

Does anyone have suggestions on translating large autocadd files? So far my steps are 1. save in autocadd 2010, explode all blocks, and on occasion delete all info that I do not need.

There has to be a more elegant solution.

Thanks.

I too am trying to open DXF or DWG files in Powercadd.
I know how to save them to DXF/DWG but not open those files.

If you drag the DXF or DWG file to your PC icon, they should open. If they don’t open, they are probably a newer (unsupported) version. You can use ODAFileConverter to convert those unopenable files to a supported DWG or DXF version. ODCFC is located in your OC application folder someplace (if I remember correctly). I normally convert problematic files to DXF 2010, which PC can open.

ODA File Converter is easy to use and saves DWGs etc to a format PCadd can open.

PC 9.1.11 includes ODA in the Utilities folder.

We usually select R12 Binary DXF for the output.
