I hope the edit window is customizable (and movable) as before. I've never needed more than the length and angle (and layer) of a line. That's just a huge waste of screen space to exhibit all that.

I would like as much screen space as possible for the drawing.
Tools and such I put on another screen.

I do keep the nice and slim toolbars on the side of my screen and I keep the edit window on the main screen for quick glances.

Two screens: 27" Imac and 30" apple monitor. Left screen for drawing and seeing the "big picture." Right screen for tools and other windows such as Photos, Safari for research, Maps, Google Earth, and Pages... etc.

Don't know if this has been discussed but I just tried screen sharing my Mojave iMac with my Ventura M2 Air. It works pretty seemlessly to operate Powercadd using the Air thru Screen Sharing. Can also drag and drop files easily.

The biggest question I have is what will the UX be with Powercadd 10? This is why it is crucial to release the Beta to all of us who have relied on Powerdraw (dating myself here...), Powercadd, and Wild Tools. Release the Beta to all of us who have become hopelessly addicted to the straightforward, elegant, incredibly intuitive program that we obviously feel that we can't do without. Give us a taste.

My point being that the longer I hold out, hoping against the odds that we will ever see an official release (no blame intended....it could just be that dragging PC into the 64bit world is just a bridge too far), at least if I had the Beta I could decide if it is indeed worth holding out. But if, in the end, capitulating to the more powerful operating system, merging with the big corporation, and losing the Wild Tools genius yields a much clunkier Powercadd, I'd rather know NOW, not in one, two or three years (and that is REALLY what we are looking at, guys) that the party is over, and it is time to break up with Powercadd and move on. There are several non-BIM and semi-BIM programs out there that I'd like to take a crack at, but the possibility that Powercadd will come back keeps me from moving forward.

So again I say, release the Beta, show us your cards, and let us determine if it will (may) all be worth it.

They have one chance to make a first impression. What would you do?

Does anyone know how many active Powercadd users there are?

Don't know, but some may return when the new v10 software comes out. Other options look tempting in the meantime--I just got an email announcing Rhino 8.0's new 2D drafting features, in addition to new 3D push-pull modeling and section tools aimed at architects. I was impressed by the demo I saw. People have mentioned Autocad LT on this forum as well, and Rhino 8.0 looks like another affordable Mac CAD alternative for those who need to upgrade Mac hardware, but may return to PowerCadd when v10 is released.
